show Abstracthide AbstractCapsaspora owczarzaki is being sequenced as part of the "Origins of Multicellularity" sequencing project conducted at the Broad Institute. To date, 625 contigs have been assembled into 84 scaffolds with annotation. Knowledge of the Capsaspora genome sequence would provide insights into host-parasite coevolution in the Capsaspora-Schistosoma system, but more importantly, it might also be used to develop strategies in the control of Schistosomiasis, a devastating human disease.
